Sheila Corkery Jewelry

Hand crafted sterling and gold jewelry

Biography

Oddly enough my passion for designing jewelry was ignited while working at a dental lab during college. Fascinated by the craft of casting, lost wax molds, and firing porcelain to make dental molds, I realized that I could use the same methods for designing and making jewelry.

After the dental lab and college graduation I began apprenticing at Kosmima Fine Jewelry in Chestnut Hill MA. During the apprenticeship I attended The Museum of Fine Arts School, which opened new doors and furthered my knowledge of the craft.

In 2002, after working at Kosmima for seven years and building a loyal client base, I took the plunge and opened my own studio in Harvard Square. Since then my work has been featured in fashion magazines, donned the cover of O Magazine, and worn by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley, Kyan Douglas and Jai Rodriguez on many episodes of their show. Allison Janney, Kirsten Dunst and Trudi Styler all have my pieces in their jewelry boxes.

Artist Statement

Organic, free form shapes that feel smooth and silky to the touch, fitted to the wrist, waist or finger – each piece of my jewelry allows you to dress up or down effortlessly with flair.
