Bio
I graduated from Wellesley College in 1995 in Chinese Studies and Japanese Studies. Born in Singapore, I spent my early childhood in Hong Kong and immigrated with my family to the United States, where I am now a naturalized citizen.


I live in Medford Massachusetts with my husband, fiction writer Ken Liu.

Statement
As a naturalized citizen of the United States, I have always explored the meaning of being American. I love the variety and vastness of American landscapes. I love the boldness and free spirit that iconic American images, such as the cowboy, represent. I am drawn to the history of American towns and its inhabitants.  And these tend to be the subjects of my photography. At the same time, I am also exploring where I, a Chinese American, can participate in the weaving of this fabric of American society.
