Bonnie J. Twomey

I began my artistic journey over 30 years ago. I found that my passion, my dream to create and have my art viewed by other is one of the most important parts of my life. I started oil painting while in high school, and worked with charcoal, pen and ink, later in watercolor and acrylic. Working in oil color is my preference for painting fall scenes, nature, and the seaside. Currently, I am experimenting with photography. I have had several exhibits with the Winchester Art Association, the Lexington Arts and Crafts Association – where I enjoyed the position of Chairperson to the Painters Guild – and am currently a member of the Concord Art Association. One of my paintings was given to Senator Edward Kennedy as part of a tribute to him for his dedication and contribution to the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health, an agency where I held the position of public policy associate.

While earning my BA at Northeastern University, I majored in graphic arts for two years, but instead, followed my other passion which is to help others and graduated with a degree in psychology. I have studied at the Museum School, the Boston Architectural Center, and at the DeCordova Museum School, and was a member of the “Artists Without Borders” group at Lesley College.
