Boston Handmade is a nonprofit arts organization, and a juried group of local artists and craftspeople supporting one another in the pursuit of creativity made by hand. Founded in 2007, Boston Handmade sponsors creative and business opportunities for its members and strives to increase visibility for local handmade art and craft in the greater Boston area.

Members of Boston Handmade represent a wide range of media. Four members participating in West Medford Open Studios include:

Allison Fraske, photographer and mixed media artist, Fraske Designs
Sharon Fischer, fiber artist creating art to wear and home décor, Stray Notions
Karen Mahoney – Functional pottery inspired by Asian techniques, forms, and glazes. Also decorative sawdust and raku pottery, City by the Sea Ceramics
Lynne Parella, fiber artist, sculpting household goodies from wool.  She gets her inspiration from nature, her children and the grocery store. Cozy Cottage Creations
