About the Artist
Dye Dream Creative was born from a lifelong passion for using color and art in different forms to express myself. What started as a crafty adventure, has evolved into a journey of combining colors and unique patterns, through tie dye, to create functional art. Originally a simple creative outlet, making has become true artistic therapy for me. There is something fascinating about starting with a blank slate, adding dye through a variety of processes, and ending up with something totally one of a kind. I love seeing the process through from preparing the fabrics, to folding and tying, adding dye in powdered or liquid form and waiting anxiously to rinse and reveal the final product. It’s a practice in patience, trust (in myself and the process) and releasing a bit of control. In the end, even if my design doesn’t come out exactly as I’d envisioned, it’s always beautiful in its own way.
With freshly dyed fabric, it’s so satisfying to cut, sew and have something beautiful that also serves a purpose in daily life. I have had an affinity for bags, pouches and places to store treasures for as long as I can remember. I love being able to combine my love of tie dye and bags. I hope my work brings you as much joy to wear and use as it brings me to make.
