Working with recycled materials, and teaching young children, I discovered the artist in myself. Exploration is the process that young children use in their art-making and it is how I approach mine. Joy and play have always had major roles in my art-making. Natural materials particularly inspire me so I use wood, sea shells, bark, etc. I also create 2-dimensional works that often include collage. I allow myself to go in whatever direction the materials lead me, meaning that I make many kinds of work, work in many mediums and have a basement full of collections of this and that waiting for their moment to be incorporated into my art. It is my hope that the joy and play that produces these works is shared with the people who see them.
